I have been in the EDM business for about 40 years.

After a little training, it was just one of those things where I thought, "Man, this looks interesting," and stayed with it. That's what I've done.

When I started this business in '95, there was a time when I was doing it by myself with a silent partner. We had two CNC mills, three sinkers, and four wire machines.

We changed that, and my oldest son came on board. Now I have a wonderful group of people here that have taken on those duties and freed up my time to work with customers a little more closely.

Everybody has been great taking responsibilities off of my plate so I can do more of what I like doing. It just seems to be a great company.

My effort right now is to transfer what we have been doing as a group and keep this legacy going. Hopefully it pans out in the long run, which I'm sure it will.

We're not out to get glory or anything like that. We just want to get the job done and be able to do it efficiently.

I would like our customers to actually enjoy what they see and look forward to doing business with us.

40 Years in EDM: Building a Precision Manufacturing Legacy

Four decades in EDM teaches you a lot about machines. It teaches you even more about people.

This leadership story follows an EDM veteran reflecting on how a small operation grew from a handful of CNC mills, sinkers, and wire machines into a team capable of carrying the work forward.

Today, his focus is increasingly on customers, sharing what he has learned, and making sure the next generation can continue the legacy.

There is no interest in chasing glory. The goal is much simpler: get the job done efficiently and give customers an experience that makes them want to come back.
