t's my joy as a Catholic priest to do anything I can to support building up a culture of family-based values where workers can put out the best quality product we possibly can.

At Wells, what we're trying to do is focus on the values of the founders. The values of the family that started this company need to be extended into everything that we do.

If we do that, we're going to be more effective, we're going to be safer, and we're going to be more joyful. That's actually the point of the company: to do the work well.

Walk in T.R.U.T.H. is a slogan, and what it means is to practice what you preach. To put the values that you have in your heart on the outside.

The first T is Trust. We can't work together unless there's that element of trust. We're going to make sure that everything we do at Wells is something everyone else can stand behind and stand with.

Second is Respect. Respect means that the people I work with can be more than just colleagues. We can be friends.

Understand means that we don't want you just to come in and punch a clock. We want you to come in and understand what you're doing so that you can grow as you do it.

Then Teach. Working at Wells should always be a place where you feel like you are learning more because it's a culture where we teach one another how to do their jobs and our jobs better.

Finally, H stands for Honesty because without that, you can't have anything else.

It's not a matter of instilling a faith or making people believe a set of things. It's a matter of setting a way of being, a way of acting that's helpful, flourishing, and good.

By instilling those in the worker, they're able to then share those with the customer. I think that's a win for everybody.

Doing this work on culture is something every company should be doing. By setting the example and instilling the values, you lift people up toward a higher goal. That's our job.

But we have to start that journey somewhere. Here, we start with culture.
